A Dinner Party Was Held to Honor TASFA Members

A dinner party was held at Hilton Hotel in honor and appreciation of TASFA (Teach and Serve for Africa) members for the service and commitment they showed to their beloved country.

TASFA, an Ethiopian Diaspora volunteers' organization, composed of Ethiopian diaspora living in North America and Europe have been sharing their knowledge and experience in the areas of ICT, Engineering and Transportation, Hospitality and Tourism, among others. Having the motto ‘Transforming Government Efficiency through Knowledge Exchange’, they have trained hundreds of public servants and government officials.

 

In her remark during the event Mrs Selamawit Dawit, Director Genaral of Ethiopian Diaspora Agency, has appreciated the commitment and spirit of the team. She also added that the knowledge and experience of the diaspora have a paramount importance in the realization of a better Ethiopia. On his part,  Dr.-Ing. Getahun Mekuriya, guest of honor and Minister of Ministry of Innovation and Technology, has stressed the importance of diasporas’ role in the development of qualified manpower. Dr Dereje Tessema, team leader of TASFA, also reiterated that the diaspora understand their role and obligation to their country of origin. He mentioned that compared to the potential of the diaspora, his team’s effort is just tip of the iceberg. He also promised that his team will do the same and more in the coming times.
